What is NLP?
The name Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) comes from the three areas it brings
together. Neuro- the mind and how we think. Linguistic- how we use language
and how it affects us. Programming- our behaviour patterns. It provides a way
of helping clients to become more competent at what they do, more in control
of their thoughts, feelings and actions, more positive in their approach to
life and better able to achieve results.
What is hypnosis?
It is a state of altered consciousness; it can best be described as a day dreaming
state, similar to the time just before going to sleep or just after waking up.
It is a state of intense relaxation and concentration in which the mind becomes
remote and detached from everyday cares and concerns and in this state the subconscious
mind is able to respond creatively to suggestion. In hypnosis the critical faculties
of the conscious mind are reduced and suggestibility to beneficial changes is
increased.
What is hypnotherapy?
It is an effective and speedy technique using hypnosis to access the clients
sub conscious mind in order to help to change earlier programming and conditioning
enabling rapid and permanent changes to take place.
What is Cognitive Behaviour Therapy?
Cognitive Behaviour Therapy is a highly effective form of psychotherapy
which aims to help clients achieve desired changes in the way they think, feel
and behave. Innerchange Programmes draw upon cognitive behaviour techniques,
but offer a speedy effective means of making progress by working with the client
on a subconscious level to help to restructure negative thoughts and behaviour
responses.
Why is hypnotherapy effective and how does it differ
from other therapies?
During hypnosis the client is in contact with his/her subconscious mind, the
seat of all emotional and behavioural problems. Most other forms of therapy
are carried out at a conscious level, and the willpower of the conscious mind
is small against that of a learned response from the past. These responses and
emotional reactions are like computer programmes which keep running and running,
causing the same unpleasant effects, until they are dealt with.
Problems can occur when a behaviour pattern/programme is made in response to
a situation that occurred in the past. The person develops and the situation
changes but the behaviour response sometimes does not. As hypnotherapy can change
that behaviour response on a subconscious level, the scope is endless.
Can anyone be hypnotised?
Yes- if they want to be.
Can I be forced to do anything against my will?
Emphatically NO! The client is always in control.
Will I be asleep?
No- you will be aware of what is going on all the time, and just feel very relaxed.
How many sessions will I need?
It depends upon the condition being treated but on average four sessions. The
initial consultation will determine the likely number of sessions required.
What is the cost of each session?
Each session costs £55 and includes CD to reinforce the therapy and the
client is taught how to use self hypnosis.
